How You Do Anything is How You Do Everything
The key to success is to pay attention to the little things. Jesus said that those who are faithful in very little will be faithful in much. How you do anything is how you do everything.
One of the overlooked characteristics of God is how God pays attention to the little things. We think of God in his grandest moments, parting the Red Sea, thundering from the mountain top, creating the Universe in six days. However, God's power is more commonly seen in the tender mercies that are made new every day. It is not the big gestures, but the steadfast love. God is faithful in the small things, and the small things add up.
Jesus was a humble man. He could walk on water, but more often he just took a boat. He washed the feet of his disciples. Most of his public ministry was devoted to training twelve students. He wasn't afraid to invest his time in the little things.
So you want to remember to do the little things well. You may be willing to slay a dragon for your wife, but chances are she just needs you to wash the dishes and take out the garbage. Do the little things well, and faithfully, and it will add up, and when the moment comes when you are confronted with a big challenge, you will be ready. How you do anything is how you do everything.
